Grab Bersikap ‘Neutral’, Mahu Keamanan, Tidak Sokong Sebarang Keganasan

PETALING JAYA – Grab Malaysia menekankan pendirian pro kemanusiaan yang menyokong sebarang usaha ke arah keamanan dan pelaksanaan gencatan senjata.

Dalam satu kenyataan semalam, Grab Malaysia berkata pihaknya tidak menyokong sebarang bentuk keganasan sebagai ahli United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).

“Merujuk kepada penyebaran paparan tertentu dalam media sosial, individu berkenaan sudah pun menjelaskan yang ia adalah pandangan yang disuarakan menerusi platform peribadi, serta diambil di luar konteks sebenar.

“Grab mendukung prinsip asas UNGC, yang menghormati perlindungan hak asasi manusia,” katanya.

Kenyataan tersebut dimuat naik semalam ekoran kecaman rakyat Malaysia terhadap syarikat berkenaan selepas Chloe Tong yang merupakan isteri kepada Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif (CEO) Grab, Anthony Tan memuat naik hantaran berbaur pro Israel.

Sebelum ini, dalam satu hantaran di Insta Story, Chloe Tong yang juga warga Singapura itu meluahkan rasa cinta serta dukacita terhadap negara Israel kerana pernah melawat sebanyak dua kali pada tahun ini.

Namun setelah menerima kecaman hebat daripada rakyat Malaysia yang bertindak membuang serta tidak menggunakan lagi aplikasi Grab, Chloe Tong tampil lagi sekali menjelaskan bahawa hantarannya telah disalah ertikan.

“Hantaran Insta Story saya beberapa minggu lalu tiba-tiba dimuat naik kembali dan secara berniat jahat konteks ayat saya dikongsi untuk menimbulkan kebencian.

“Insta Story saya sebelum ini dimuat naik sebelum saya memahami apa sebenarnya yang berlaku antara Israel dan Gaza.

“Seperti umat manusia yang lain, saya mengharapkan gencatan senjata dan keamanan. Saya hanya sedih dan berasa sangat tidak berdaya untuk semua nyawa yang tidak berdosa yang terkorban,” tulisnya.

Selain Grab, beberapa jenama terkenal lain yang membantu Israel secara langsung atau tidak langsung turut diboikot secara besar-besaran oleh seluruh rakyat Malaysia.
