PETALING JAYA – Terdapat seramai 462,100 penganggur aktif di negara ini pada Ogos lalu, iaitu mereka yang bersedia untuk bekerja dan aktif mencari pekerjaan, lapor Jabatan Perangkaan semalam.
Menurutnya, penganggur aktif merangkumi 80 peratus daripada jumlah penganggur pada Ogos 2023 yang direkodkan berjumlah 577,300 orang, dengan kadar pengangguran 3.4 peratus.
Ketua Perangkawan, Datuk Seri Mohd. Uzir Mahidin berkata, dalam kalangan penganggur aktif, mereka yang menganggur kurang daripada tiga bulan meliputi 61.4 peratus, manakala mereka yang berada dalam pengangguran jangka panjang melebihi setahun mencatatkan 6.2 peratus, lapor Kosmo.
“Sementara itu, mereka yang percaya bahawa tiada pekerjaan tersedia, atau penganggur tidak aktif merekodkan peningkatan sebanyak 0.6 peratus kepada 115,200 orang pada Ogos lalu (Julai 2023: 114,500 orang),” katanya dalam satu kenyataan semalam.
Mohd. Uzir menambah, kadar pengangguran bagi belia berumur 15 hingga 24 tahun terus menurun sebanyak 0.1 mata peratusan kepada 10.8 peratus, mencatatkan bilangan 309,200 orang (Julai 2023: 10.9 peratus, 311,200 orang).
Menurut Kosmo, sementara kadar pengangguran bagi belia berumur 15 hingga 30 tahun kekal pada 6.8 peratus seperti pada bulan sebelumnya, melibatkan 439,600 orang.
“Berdasarkan prestasi petunjuk Indeks Pelopor Malaysia bagi tempoh enam bulan, prospek ekonomi jangka pendek negara dijangka bertambah baik secara sederhana, memandangkan prospek ekonomi global yang tidak menentu.
“Permintaan domestik yang stabil, peningkatan aktiviti pelancongan, sektor perkhidmatan yang berkembang dan dasar ekonomi yang menyokong dijangka akan terus menyokong pertumbuhan ekonomi pada separuh kedua tahun 2023.
“Kedudukan pasaran buruh negara dijangka bertumbuh sederhana pada bulan-bulan yang akan datang,” katanya.
