Penjimatan Subsidi Diesel Untuk Tampung Keperluan, Bantuan Kepada Rakyat

PUTRAJAYA: Penjimatan sebanyak RM4 bilion yang dicapai melalui penyasaran semula subsidi diesel akan digunakan untuk menampung kos pengangkutan awam serta Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR).

Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, menyatakan bahawa kos STR, yang kini memberi manfaat kepada sembilan juta penerima, telah mencapai RM10 bilion.

“Wang dari penyasaran subsidi itu bukan untuk menaikkan elaun menteri atau kementerian lain. Penyasaran subsidi ini bertujuan memastikan ia tidak diberikan kepada golongan maha kaya dan warga asing.

“Sebahagian daripada penjimatan subsidi diesel ini akan digunakan untuk menampung keperluan pengangkutan awam atau bantuan kepada rakyat. Sebahagian lagi akan ditambah kepada peruntukan Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah, yang kini telah mencapai belanja sebanyak RM10 bilion,” katanya.

Beliau berkata demikian ketika berucap pada Majlis Perhimpunan Bulanan Kementerian Kewangan (MOF) di sini, hari ini.

Anwar menyatakan bahawa penyasaran subsidi diesel adalah langkah ketiga yang dilaksanakan kerajaan untuk menstruktur semula agihan subsidi negara, selepas penjimatan RM4.5 bilion dari tarif elektrik dan pengapungan harga ayam serta telur sebanyak RM1.2 bilion.
